Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of all services provided by AnHonestHost. By using our services, you agree to comply with this policy. We reserve the right to update this AUP at any time with reasonable notice.

General Use Guidelines

AnHonestHost services are intended for lawful purposes only. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including activity by any users you grant access to. You agree to use our services in a manner that does not negatively impact other customers or the stability of our infrastructure.

Prohibited Content

You may not use AnHonestHost services to host, distribute, or link to any of the following:

• Content that violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law
• Malware, viruses, trojans, ransomware, or any other malicious software
• Phishing pages, credential harvesting sites, or fraudulent content designed to deceive users
• Content that infringes on copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content exploiting minors
• Content promoting or facilitating terrorism or violence

Resource Usage

Our hosting services are designed for websites and web applications. The following activities are prohibited:

• Cryptocurrency mining or any form of blockchain computation
• Running processes that consume excessive CPU, memory, or disk I/O to the detriment of other customers on shared infrastructure
• Using hosting accounts primarily for file storage or backup rather than serving web content
• Running open proxies, TOR exit nodes, or anonymizing services
• Operating public file-sharing or torrent services

If your usage impacts other customers, we will contact you to discuss options, which may include upgrading to a plan with dedicated resources.

Email Policies

Email services included with hosting accounts are for normal business and personal communication. The following are prohibited:

• Sending bulk unsolicited email (spam) of any kind
• Sending emails with forged headers or deceptive subject lines
• Operating mailing lists without proper opt-in and opt-out mechanisms
• Using our mail servers to relay email for third-party domains not hosted with us

If your account is found sending spam, email services may be suspended immediately to protect our mail server reputation.

Security

You may not use AnHonestHost services to:

• Attempt unauthorized access to any system, network, or account (including other AnHonestHost customers)
• Conduct port scanning, vulnerability scanning, or penetration testing against systems you do not own
• Launch denial-of-service (DoS) or distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks
• Intercept or monitor network traffic not intended for your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials, CMS installations, and scripts secure and up to date.

Consequences of Violations

When we identify a policy violation, we follow a graduated response approach:

1. Warning: For first-time or minor violations, we will notify you and request that you resolve the issue within a reasonable timeframe (typically 24-48 hours).
2. Suspension: For repeated violations, serious offenses, or failure to resolve a warned issue, we may suspend the offending service or your entire account.
3. Termination: For severe violations (such as hosting malware, CSAM, or conducting attacks), or repeated policy violations after prior warnings, we may terminate your account immediately and without refund.

We reserve the right to skip directly to suspension or termination for serious violations that pose immediate risk to our infrastructure or other customers.

Reporting Violations

If you believe an AnHonestHost customer is violating this policy, please report it to abuse@anhonesthost.com. Include as much detail as possible, including URLs, IP addresses, and timestamps. We investigate all reports promptly.

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of services provided by AnHonestHost. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

Service Description

AnHonestHost provides web hosting, domain registration, and related internet services. Specific features, resources, and limitations for each plan are described on our website and in your service agreement. We strive to deliver reliable, high-performance hosting backed by honest and transparent practices.

Account Responsibilities

When you create an account with AnHonestHost, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Keep your account credentials secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• Comply with our Acceptable Use Policy

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and purchase services.

Billing and Payment

• Prepaid services: All hosting services are billed in advance for the selected billing cycle (monthly, annually, etc.).
• Payment methods: We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and other payment methods as displayed during checkout.
• Refund policy: We offer a full refund within 30 days of your initial purchase if you are not satisfied. After 30 days, no refunds are provided for remaining time on your billing cycle.
• Late payment: If payment fails, we will attempt to notify you and provide a grace period. Services may be suspended if payment is not received within 7 days of the due date and terminated after 14 days.
• Price changes: We may adjust pricing for our services. Existing customers will receive at least 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect. Price changes apply at the next renewal.

Service Level

We target 99.9% uptime for all hosting services, measured on a monthly basis. This excludes scheduled maintenance windows, which we announce in advance whenever possible.

If your service experiences downtime exceeding our 99.9% uptime goal in any calendar month, you may request a service credit:

• 99.0% - 99.9% uptime: Credit equal to 5% of your monthly fee
• 95.0% - 99.0% uptime: Credit equal to 15% of your monthly fee
• Below 95.0% uptime: Credit equal to 30% of your monthly fee

Credits must be requested within 30 days of the affected month and are applied to your account balance. Credits do not exceed the monthly fee for the affected service.

Data and Backups

We perform regular backups of hosting accounts as a courtesy and for disaster recovery purposes. However, you are ultimately responsible for maintaining your own backups of all data, files, databases, and email stored on our servers.

AnHonestHost is not liable for any data loss. We strongly recommend that you maintain independent backups of your important data using your own backup solution.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AnHonestHost shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of our services.

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of our services is limited to the amount you paid to AnHonestHost for the specific service during the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

• By you: You may cancel your services at any time through your client area or by contacting support. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period if submitted with at least 30 days' notice, or at the end of the following billing period otherwise.
• By us: We may terminate your account with 30 days' notice for any reason. In this case, we will provide a pro-rated refund for any unused prepaid time.
• Immediate termination: We may terminate your account immediately and without refund for serious violations of our Acceptable Use Policy, fraud, or illegal activity.

Upon termination, we will retain your data for 30 days to allow you to retrieve it, after which it will be permanently deleted.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of material changes by email and/or by posting a notice in your client area. Your continued use of our services after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you may cancel your services before the changes take effect.
